At the Wellness Institute, we are committed to providing programs and services that meet our members’ health needs, grounded in the most recent scientific evidence. To help us continue this mission, the Chronic Disease Innovation Centre is launching a new pilot study, and we would love your help and involvement.

About the Study: We are piloting an observational study titled PACMan (Piloting a healthy Aging Cohort in Manitoba). The goal of this study is to explore the relationships between medical fitness facility usage, lifestyle behaviours, and health outcomes as individuals age.

Why Participate? In addition to contributing to valuable health research, participants gain access to detailed data about their own physical health. You will receive:

  • Copies of your ambulatory blood pressure reports.
  • DEXA reports provide detailed measurements of your body composition and bone density.
  • Annual lab results.
  • A $25.00 monetary reimbursement for your time spent in the study.

Eligibility & Commitment – We are looking for participants who are:

  • 30 years of age or older.
  • Current members of The Wellness Institute.

As a participant, you will be followed for approximately two weeks at the beginning of the study, and again one year later. During this time, you will provide information on your physical activity, diet, sleep, stress, cognition, and overall health.

How to Join: If you are interested in participating or would like to learn more, please contact Kathy Cherepak, Research Coordinator.
