Fall Prevention Clinic

An excellent opportunity for an overall Fall Prevention assessment. You will rotate through a series of stations overseen by different healthcare professionals: physiotherapists, occupational therapist, a pharmacist and a dietitian, where you’ll get a screening of your medications, nutrition, strength, balance and general health. You’ll receive information and individualized recommendations to help reduce your risk of falling.

Seniors Mental Health

What are mood disorders? An overview of anxiety and depression. Various topics impacting your mental health, including retirement, aging, grief, loneliness, dementia, suicide and recovery and support, will be addressed.

Turning Pages – 6 weeks

Are you over 50 experiencing sadness, anxiety, or challenges related to transitions such as retirement or caregiving? An innovative community-based mental health program in partnership with the University of Manitoba, aiming to improve mental health symptoms through education, skill building, peer support, and community connections. Turning Pages is rooted in best practices and evidence-based research to help strengthen the mental health of older adults.

Mondays: October 23 – November 27; 1:30 – 3 pm

Staying on Your Feet – Falls Prevention

Learn how to reduce your risk of falls.  Understand some of the risks of falling at home and in the community. You’ll receive information to help you determine your risk of falling and be able to act to lower your risk. Everyone will take home their safety plan for fall prevention.

Guided Meditation and Sound Healing with Crystal Singing Bowls, Music and Vocal Tones

Join l’aura Carroll to experience guided Imagery meditation with sound healing to help to find peace within.

Relax with the healing intention and vibration of the crystal singing bowls. l’aura will guide you into nature and peaceful places to help you unwind, restore and rejuvenate.

Body Wisdom - Four-part Series

A 4-part series to develop self-awareness, nervous system literacy, and tools for self-support during times of being overwhelmed and feeling stuck through experiential, body-based practices.

Week 1 - What's my nervous system got to do with it? Nervous System 101, introduction to felt sense, tools to self-regulate

Week 2 - Chaos to Calm - review of basics and body-based tools and practices to shift from overdrive to flow

Week 3 - Uplift - review of basics and body-based tools and practices to get unstuck

Joy Onyschak is a Somatic Practitioner and founder of Joy Somatics who has led individuals and groups to their innate wellness for over 13 years. She helps people recovering from chronic stress and trauma who desire a deeper embodied understanding of themselves return to joy and presence.

Qigong & Tai Chi Demo

This is a one-hour class of three 20-minute segments in which participants will learn a bit about Tai Chi and Qigong and their similarities and differences. The emphasis in this class is experiential - we will walk you through some exercises from Tai Chi, Therapeutic QiGong, and Healer Within Medical QiGong so you will feel the differences.

QiGong: The Healer Within Series

This series consists of four dimensions of practice: Gentle Movement, Breath practice, Self-massage and Relaxation practice

These practices modify and accelerate your body’s self-regulating physiological and bioenergetic mechanisms that are practical for healing diseases and supporting health maintenance, endurance, and longevity.
