Overhead exercises with free weights, whether it’d be with a dumbbell, kettlebell, or barbell may not be best suited for everyone (shoulder mobility limitations, stability demands, etc.). The landmine press is a great alternative for those wanting to work shoulders and the overhead position while... doing it in a safe manner. In order of difficulty we have:

Landmine Press (Bilateral stance) – Standing engages the core and stability needs for the lower body.
Landmine Press (Split stance) – The split stance places more stability on the lower body in a unilateral way, strengthening one side of the body at the time.
Landmine Press (Push Press) – Push presses are a combination of a lower body power exercise and overhead press. Great for increasing explosiveness!
Landmine Press (Jerk) – The ultimate power exercise that works the lower body and upper body in an explosive way!

Did you know: 5+10 packs of Personal Training sessions include Pre+Post InBody Composition Screening?

These body composition tests use bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to measure your body composition, including body fat percentage, muscle mass, and water weight.

During the ...assessment, you stand on the machine's electrodes and hold onto its handgrips while a small electrical current is passed through your body (don't worry, it's harmless!). The machine then provides you with a detailed analysis of your body composition.

This information can help anyone looking to improve their health and fitness. Tracking changes in your body composition over time can be a great way to monitor your progress toward your goals.

At the Wellness Institute, trained professionals can help you interpret your InBody assessment results and provide personalized recommendations for improving your health and fitness.

Members are also entitled to an InBody Composition Analysis each year for the included Health and Fitness Assessment. If you want to know more, ask a Wellness Consultant in blue on your next visit!

Many of you know Brennan who is one of our Group Trainers. He is going to walk us through a series of Hinge/Deadlift progressions. This set of exercise for the lower body focuses mainly on the glutes, hamstrings and core.

The series of progressions from easy to difficult are:
- Glute ...Bridge – easiest, no load on lower back
- Kettle Bell Deadlift – good starting point for deadlifts, place kettlebell between ankles in start position
- Trap Bar Deadlift – Good progression when needing heavier weights, less technically challenging than barbell
- Barbell Deadlift – Most difficult, engages the glutes and hamstrings the most

Most important, master the basics before attempting the harder versions! If you have questions, please see one of our Wellness Consultants.
